Our Impact
AfEI combines environmental education, practical training and community action to help farmers, young people and communities respond to environmental and climate-related challenges.
Practical action, rooted in communities
Since 2016, the Alliance for Environmental Intervention has worked with farmers, schools, young people and communities through environmental education, climate-resilient agriculture and landscape-restoration initiatives.
Our approach connects knowledge with practical action. Activities have included farmer training, demonstration farming, compost preparation, water-efficient irrigation, school environmental education, tree planting, seedling production and community engagement.
Areas of contribution
Environmental Learning
AfEI supports environmental learning through school outreach, mentorship, environmental clubs, climate-change education and practical activities. Children and young people are encouraged to understand environmental challenges and take responsible action within their schools and communities.
Climate-Resilient Agriculture
AfEI works with farmers to strengthen knowledge of climate-smart and regenerative agricultural practices. Training and demonstration activities have addressed soil management, compost preparation, crop diversity, water-efficient irrigation and locally appropriate adaptation methods.
Landscape Restoration
AfEI’s landscape work includes tree planting, seedling production, composting, school greening and practical approaches to soil and water conservation. These activities support healthier landscapes while connecting environmental restoration with community needs and agricultural livelihoods.
Partnership and Community Engagement
AfEI works with farmers, schools, traditional authorities, civil-society organisations and public institutions. These relationships support community participation, local knowledge sharing, practical implementation and continued learning.

How AfEI creates change
Practical Learning
AfEI uses demonstration farms, nurseries, school activities and field-based training to connect environmental knowledge with practical experience.
Community Participation
Farmers, students, schools, traditional authorities and local organisations contribute to planning, training, implementation and learning.
Continuing Support
Classroom instruction is complemented by practical demonstrations, follow-up visits, peer learning and support for applying knowledge in farms, schools and communities.
Evidence and Learning
AfEI documents activities, participation, implementation progress and lessons at project level. Monitoring visits, field reports and project updates help the organisation reflect on its work and improve subsequent activities.
Current work
Life in a Changing Landscape, Phase II
AfEI and the Ghana Youth Environmental Movement are working with farming communities in the Asuogyaman District through the Adaptation Village and ACRE Hub.
The programme provides practical learning in Climate and Nature-Smart Agriculture, agroforestry, composting, soil restoration, sustainable planting and water conservation.
The Adaptation Village and ACRE Hub provide field-based spaces where participating farmers can observe, practise and discuss approaches to agricultural adaptation and environmental management.
How we report results
AfEI records results through its projects, campaigns and implementation updates. Individual project and campaign pages present information about the activities undertaken, participating groups, implementation periods, partners and results.
News and Stories provides further information about training sessions, field visits, monitoring activities, partnerships and organisational developments.
AfEI continues to strengthen its monitoring and learning practices so that future reporting can provide a fuller account of participation, adoption, environmental outcomes and longer-term community benefits.
