A Dynamic Blend of Expertise, United by a Mission to Combat Climate Change

Bornaventure previously served on the Steering Committee of the Commonwealth Youth Climate Change Network, with responsibility for participation and grassroots engagement. He also held a leadership role in the African Youth Initiative on Climate Change. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, with a focus on plant pathology, from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

Ocloo Daniel Mawuko completed a PhD in Environmental Studies at the University of Tsukuba, Japan. His doctoral research examined university-campus ecosystem services and their relationships with awareness, perceptions, use and valuation among students in Ghana.

His research uses geospatial modelling, environmental valuation, surveys, scenario analysis and quantitative and qualitative methods to examine relationships among land-use decisions, ecological change and human responses. His technical experience includes ArcGIS, InVEST and Fragstats, as well as R, Python and SPSS for statistical analysis, data preparation and visualisation.

His research has addressed land-use and landscape change, ecosystem services, carbon storage, water yield, soil-management behaviour, environmental perceptions and conservation planning in African and Asian regions.

His professional experience includes teaching environmental science, remote sensing and GIS, water-resource management, climatology, sanitation and limnology. He has also contributed to fisheries extension, environmental monitoring, proposal development, project coordination, implementation follow-up and undergraduate research guidance.

As a co-founder of AfEI, he contributes to organisational planning, research, programme and project design, environmental education, proposal development, monitoring and evaluation, data analysis and the preparation of educational and technical materials.

Michael is the Managing Director of Bavako Farms and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Engineering. His agricultural experience and interest in environmental sustainability contribute to AfEI’s organisational leadership and practical environmental work.

Rosemond holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Studies from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. She has participated in environmental education and advocacy and is particularly interested in how policy, public participation and institutional action can support environmental protection.

She studied Environmental Science and Management at the University College of Agriculture and Environmental Studies, Bunso. She currently works with the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA), Ghana, and is pursuing an MPhil in Environmental Restoration Studies at UESD, Somanya.

Ernestina has been involved in youth engagement, community volunteering and environmental education. She has also participated in initiatives that reuse plastic bottles to make eco-friendly benches and paving materials.

Her interests include environmental conservation, recycling, waste management, environmental restoration and educating young people about the environment.

Stephen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Design, specialising in multimedia design, and a Master of Public Administration. This combination of creative and policy expertise allows him to translate complex environmental issues into compelling visual narratives that resonate with diverse audiences, from school communities to policymakers.

At AfEI, Stephen leads the design and production of educational materials, manages media relations, coordinates public sensitisation campaigns and contributes to strategic advocacy planning.

Stephen is driven by the belief that one of the greatest gifts to pass on to the next generation is a healthy, sustainable environment that supports life.
