Who We Are
Alliance for Environmental Intervention (AfEI) is a Ghanaian nonprofit environmental organisation established in 2016. AfEI works with farmers, young people, schools, and communities to promote environmental stewardship, strengthen climate resilience, and protect natural resources.
Our work is guided by environmental sustainability, environmental awareness, and environmental justice.
Our Beginning
AfEI was founded by two young graduates who wanted to improve the management of environmental resources by combining advocacy, public education, and practical environmental action. Other graduates who shared this vision later joined the organisation as volunteers.
In January 2016, AfEI conducted its first environmental outreach activity at Adawso Roman Catholic Basic School in the Akuapim South District of Ghana's Eastern Region. Since then, AfEI has implemented and supported initiatives in environmental education, climate awareness, sustainable agriculture, and natural-resource management.
The Challenges We Address
Communities in Ghana face increasingly unpredictable rainfall, land degradation, pressure on water and other natural resources, and rising agricultural production costs. Many young people also have limited access to practical environmental education.
Our Approach
AfEI responds through environmental education, advocacy, research, and practical initiatives. Our work includes climate-smart agricultural training, demonstration farming, tree planting, composting, seedling production, water-resource protection, and community-based landscape restoration.

To raise champions of environmental stewardship in every household.
Our Mission
To promote peaceful living through care for the environment and nature, youth empowerment, public education, and research.
Our Main Objective
To contribute to environmental conservation and protection through initiatives that safeguard aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.
Our Specific Objectives
- Educate young people about the importance of conserving and protecting the environment.
- Promote the protection and responsible management of water bodies in Ghana.
- Create greener communities through tree planting, tree protection, and community green spaces.
- Advocate for the wider adoption of clean and renewable energy in Ghana.
- Develop demonstration farms that support practical learning in climate-smart agriculture.
