Programme area

Community Landscape Restoration

Community-based action to restore degraded land, protect natural resources and improve the long-term management of local landscapes.

AfEI supports communities in restoring and managing landscapes through tree planting, seedling production, composting, demonstration farming and practical soil and water conservation.

This programme area also promotes community participation in protecting water bodies, maintaining green spaces and strengthening the relationship between agricultural livelihoods and healthy ecosystems.

Current work includes landscape-restoration and nursery activities under Life in a Changing Landscape, Phase II, implemented with the Ghana Youth Environmental Movement.
