Farmers Participate in Practical Training at the Adaptation Village
Smallholder farmers participated in practical training on sustainable planting techniques at AfEI's Adaptation Village.

On 17 April 2026, AfEI and GYEM held an advanced practical training session with smallholder farmers at AfEI’s Adaptation Village under Life in a Changing Landscape, Phase II.
The activity formed the second phase of the programme’s capacity-development approach. During the first phase, participants received classroom-based instruction on climate change, sustainable agriculture and climate-adaptive farming practices.
The second phase introduced practical learning through the Adaptation Village’s living-classroom approach. Participants worked with project facilitators to prepare planting areas, apply appropriate spacing, handle seedlings and undertake supervised planting.
The practical session allowed farmers to apply knowledge introduced during the classroom training and become familiar with sustainable planting methods.
The Adaptation Village will continue to serve as a demonstration and learning site where participants can observe agricultural practices and results over time. Subsequent activities are expected to extend practical support to participating farmers’ own farms.
