Life in a Changing Landscape Report – Visit by Dr. Adom
On Friday, 8th May 2026, Dr. Dickson Adom of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) paid a monitoring and learning visit on behalf of Gower Street to the Life in a Changing Landscape project implemented by AfEI and GYEM. The visit formed part of the project’s monitoring and evaluation process, aimed at assessing implementation progress, strengthening stakeholder engagement, and supporting learning and accountability.
During the visit, Dr. Adom toured key components of the ACRE Hub, including the demonstration farm, composting facility, seedling nursery, irrigation system, and repurposed container office unit. Discussions also highlighted progress made during the first quarter of implementation, including farm setup activities, farmer and student trainings, field demonstrations, and knowledge exchange initiatives conducted in partnership with WildRain.
The advisor also interacted with project staff and interviewed participating farmers to better understand the project’s impact on their livelihoods. Farmers shared their experiences, reflecting on the benefits they have gained, challenges they continue to face, and their hopes for future support.
The visit provided an important opportunity for reflection, learning, and engagement, helping ensure that project interventions remain responsive to community needs and aligned with intended outcomes.
